ABOUT RAMANUJAN COLLEGE LIBRARY:

Ramanujan College library is one of the oldest among Delhi University college libraries. The library is well stocked with a collection of approximately 38,500 books. The library currently subscribes to 28 magazines & 23 Newspapers. The library provides access to E- resources through Delhi University Library system, N-List and DELNET. The library is fully automated operates with KOHA-open source integrated software and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. It is a wireless system that makes it possible for the library's daily operations to be carried out effectively.

Two KIOSK machines are available for facilitating the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) for the students and faculty members. It helps the user in finding out whether the book he/she is looking for is available in library or not. Also, it specifies the location of that particular book. The service of Web-OPAC has been started in the college to facilitate the user. It helps in saving the time of the user by providing the library books information status online. If a user wants to borrow a book, he/she can check its availability status first through Web-OPAC before visiting the library.

The library created a separate webpage and added pertinent links to it so that students can access the E-Content 24/7.

Students may view the real time transactions regarding their books at the circulation counter on LED display installed there.

Library has a separate BRAILLE section for visually challenged students so that they can study their course content using JAWS software.

In the student reading hall and faculty lounge desktop systems have been installed, on which students and faculty can access library e-resources.

The library also provides kindles facility to both faculty and students. Every single kindle provides access to 10 Lakh books.
